Meadowhall is Yorkshire’s premier shopping and leisure destination, celebrating over 30 years in business this year.
Meadowhall recently completed a £ 60million internal refurbishment program that has transformed the look and feel of shopping centers by providing a contemporary and modern shopping experience. The center now incorporates a lighter and brighter appearance, introducing 4 distinct zones with double-height storefronts, new facades and an improved overall sensory experience.
Meadowhall currently has over 290 retailers, including over 50 places to eat and drink, and 12,000 free parking spaces, making it the largest shopping center in Yorkshire and the 8th largest in the UK. A regular craft market is also organized to provide additional choice.
As a premier retail destination, Meadowhall consistently attracts designer and sought-after brands such as FLANNELS, Jack Wills, Joules, Diesel and The White Company as well as Victoria’s Secret and Reiss. Popular food brands include Five Guys Burgers, Yo! and Carluccio, among many others.
In 2017, Meadowhall was chosen as the location for Joe Browns’ very first street store. It has since attracted brands such as Apple and Barber Barber, further adding to its market-leading choice offering.
The exciting new line joins a mix of leading retailers, including popular stores Zara, Primark and Next.
Meadowhall’s standard hours of operation are 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, and 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday. Oasis and Vue Cinema retailers are open later each day.
Meadowhall enjoys excellent transport links with the Meadowhall Passenger Transport Interchange (PTI) which has facilities for local and regional bus, train and Supertram services.
The center plays an important economic role for the city of Sheffield as a whole. According to an independent report published in January 2016 by PwC Consultants, Meadowhall supports one in every 100 jobs in the region and contributes 1 pence in £ 1 to the local economy. It also represents 18% of the business rates collected in Sheffield.
According to the same review, Meadowhall provides direct employment to approximately 8,500 people per year and has supported more than 660 apprentices over the past five years.
The center has invested £ 1.8million in community programs over the past five years through cash contributions, volunteering, in-kind donations and fundraising.
Meadowhall is a green center that recycles 95% of its waste, collects and reuses rainwater and was the first center in the UK to install charging stations for electric cars.
