Chelsea called off their pre-season friendly against Drogheda United on Thursday night, football.london has learned.
It is not yet clear why the match was called off.
It was to be the Blues’ second friendly of the summer after beating Peterborough at Cobham last weekend.
Chelsea have been in Ireland for three days for a training camp on the outskirts of Dublin where they attend two training sessions a day.
However, football.london understands that players will instead have another practice session Thursday night instead of playing the game.
They are expected to return to England later this week and continue training at Cobham before heading to Bournemouth for a friendly on Tuesday 27 July.
After that, The Mind Series friendlies against Arsenal (August 1) and Spurs (August 4) will close the friendly schedule ahead of the Premier League season start for Chelsea on August 14 with a home game against Crystal Palace.
This is breaking news. More soon.
